autumn weekend

Sorry this post is a little late!  I've been so busy with deadlines and assignments >_<  I finally have a minute to post some pictures from last weekend.
T and I went to Jericho beach on Saturday, which was probably the most beautiful I've ever seen it.  The trees were all different colours and it was picture perfect!  Then at night we made homemade chicken soup, had some tea and watched our new favorite show, American Horror Story (which is deliciously creepy and morbid and right up my alley).
Sunday we went to a really nice brunch in Kits and then walked to Kitsilano Beach in an attempt to walk off all the food we ate :P

Sweater: H&M from last year; Toque: H&M; Jeans: American Eagle; Boots: Hunters; Scarf: Etsy.

I can't get over how beautiful the trees are at this time of year!  Why can't they always look like this..

My favorite photographer <3

They can't all be great pictures...

The most delicious, homemade, hearty chicken soup ever!

My mom picked up these mugs for T and I when she went to Portland, she knows how much we love zombies!  How cool are they?!

Super sunny Sunday :)

Love this top, it's a very thin but super soft sweater :)  Top: Nordstrom; Nails: OPIs Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees

The biggest leaf I could find
I hope everyone had a great weekend, stay tuned for my October Favorites coming soon!  Then next weekend I'm going on a little trip!  Lots more pictures to come :)

friday night makeup

I had a casual outing on Friday night with some friends and I wanted to go super simple with my makeup and use minimal products.

I decided to try out my brand new Clinique eyeshadow single in #02 Black Honey.  I wanted this eyeshadow for so long and I looked around for quite a while to find a potential dupe for it.  There are some drugstore shadows that rival this super shimmery burgundy-flecked dark brown but none of them have quite as much shimmer and are too dark to wear on their own.
This Clinique shadow can be worn as an everyday look by itself or on the lid with a taupe or brown shadow in the crease for a smokier look.  You could even use this to blend out a red shadow like MAC's Cranberry or the Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk if you're daring enough to try red shadows!
I love this shadow because it's nicely pigmented and you can swipe on one layer for lighter color or layer it up and make it darker.  If you have green or hazel coloured eyes I would really recommend this one or another brown shadow with red tones in it.  Definitely one of my new fall staples along with Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation which brightens up dull skin!

Also, I finally put up my fairy lights!  Hopefully Pinecone doesn't go for them or we'll have a real-life version of the "fried pussycat" scene in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation...

A warm coat for winter

Hi everyone!

So remember how I was telling you about that rather large Topshop purchase I made?  Here it is!  I needed a new winter coat and thought that something more on the casual side suited my needs better since I already have a nice heavy, fitted black coat for when I want to look nice.

This coat is great because it's lined with "borg" lining which continues inside the hood and it has a fur-trimmed hood.  The fur doesn't continue into the arms so you won't get too hot while wearing this, however the warm lining goes into sleeves.  As if that wasn't great enough, the lining can also come out and both shells can be worn on their own.  The lining comes out and becomes a smaller, borg-lined jacket with a fur-trimmed hood and the exterior shell can be worn as a basic, thin, green-khaki jacket.

Another reason why I love it so much it because it's longer than most parkas, meaning that when you sit down in it, it actually covers your butt.  This way, you won't get the shock of your life when you sit on a cold surface, which happens too often to the best of us.

Now I just need to wait till it gets cold enough to wear which might not be awhile considering how mild Vancouver weather is...

Whatever, I still love it.

This is what the lining looks like if you were to take it out of the jacket.  Unlike a lot of linings, this one is totally wearable on its own!

xo.

lately

So I've been pretty busy lately with school/midterms and all of that and I've been wanting to start watching American Horror Story for quite some time now.  Not that I need another series to follow...

I spent my Sunday night in having a little 'me' time which means taking care of my skin, doing a face mask, drinking loads of water and tea and watching a show snuggled up with PC and some big comfy socks. Also having multiple fall candles lit is a necessity.  Duhh.

Couldn't decide on a color!

I tried out this new lip balm because I'd heard only great things about it and all of my others had run out.  I have to admit, it is amazing...

Thanksgiving

Hi everyone!

Today was Canadian Thanksgiving and it was such a beautiful day!  It was sunny but still chilly, perfect flannel and toque weather.  My parents are out of town for the weekend so I spent the day with my boyfriend and his family relaxing and eating (what's new?).  Here are a few pictures from my day today.

Good morning, Pinecone! Open those blinds :)

Today is a cozy flannel shirt day.

Reorganized my sweaters last night while watching a Halloween movie :)

My re-organized closet!  It took weeks to get around to but I finally did it and boy am I glad I did, I can see my floor again!

In the mornings I like to lie in bed with Pinecone and catch up with everything and check the blog on my laptop

I was trying to take outfit pictures and Pinecone decided she loved my new toque :P

Today's outfit paired with comfy leggings.  Flannel: Aritzia; Shirt: Airtzia; Toque: H&M.

I've been loving this perfume, unfortunately my samples almost finished, so sad! :(

Today's makeup is super basic.

Got to T's parents' house, such gorgeous flowers!

We missed you Stewie-Louie!  Internet, meet Stuart!  He's a toothless Chihuahua the size of a burrito and he's a lady killer.

T and his one-eyed pekingese, Minnie <3

Little Andy :)
Muffin got trimmed and looks like a little lion...spawn of satan..

Fat cats hold a special place in my heart <3

Gorgeous view from my boyfriend's parents' backyard, it's finally fall!

Majestic little lion cub

The kitties!

Gotta have my PSL

Super comfy outfit today seeing as how I was just hanging out with these animals :P

My boyfriend knew how badly I wanted to try the new Pokemon X so he bought it for me as well as a brand new Nintendo 3DS XL to play it on! It's pink.  I love him a million girl guide thin mints.

Bacon-covered turkey, hands-down the best bacon I've ever had

All done!

The chef carving his bird in his glow-in-the-dark snowflake pj's.  What a keeper.

Today was such an amazing day, I had so much fun and it was so nice to just relax off campus with my boyfriend and his family.  I hope you all you Canadians had an amazing Thanksgiving, have a great day off tomorrow!
Much love <3
